Volunteer Intern Program for Locals

Our Volunteer Intern Program for Locals is for persons already living in this region who want to acquire skills that we can teach them. Sometimes our Volunteers want to learn how to plant and maintain a garden in the high desert so that they can start their own home or balcony garden; sometimes they want to be around animals and nature for personal reasons and feel this is the perfect venue for doing so; sometimes they are involved in educational or professional programs that require them to log a certain number of volunteer hours, and they already know they love working on a farm better than any other local volunteer opportunity.

This program requires a minimum commitment of 24 volunteer hours total, in minimum 2 hour shifts, so that it makes sense for us to offer this opportunity.

Most of our Volunteer Interns are 18 years of age or older, but in certain circumstances we have been open to younger Volunteers with exceptional integrity, maturity and work ethic. Parents and minors both sign the liability agreement, in this case.

Additionally, we are open to parents who would like to volunteer with and alongside their minor children (minimum age 11).

How to Apply

Applicants should contact us by email to request an application. We will mail you the application paperwork the old-fashioned way, and you can return it by mail, fax, or scan and email.
